Terms and conditions.
How we buy, collect, pay and sell. Short on purpose. Last updated 18 September 2026.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms apply between you and JSC CARDS PTY LTD t/a PGM Recycling ("PGM Recycling", "we") whenever you use this website, ask us for a quote, sell material to us, or buy from us. South African law applies.
2. Quotes and prices
- A price given on WhatsApp, by phone or by email from a photo or description is an estimate. The final price is set when the material is identified, weighed and, where needed, tested in front of you.
- Catalytic converters are priced from the unit's reference number and that day's platinum, palladium and rhodium prices, with XRF testing of substrate, bulk lots and any unit the number does not settle. E-waste is priced by type and weight.
- Metal prices move daily, so a quote is valid on the day it is given unless we say otherwise in writing.
- You are free to decline the final price. If you do, we leave the material with you and nothing is owed either way.
3. Collection
- Collection is free. We do not charge a call-out, transport or handling fee, and nothing is deducted from the agreed price for collection.
- Collection times are arranged with you and depend on our route and vehicle availability. For very small quantities far from our branches we may ask to combine your collection with others in the area.
- Please have the material accessible and, for businesses, someone authorised to sign the invoice.
4. Payment and invoices
- We pay immediately once the final price is agreed, by cash or EFT, your choice. An invoice recording the material, weights, price and your details is issued at the same time.
- EFT payments are made to an account in the seller's name unless a company's authorised representative instructs otherwise in writing.
5. Identification and legal ownership
- South African law requires us to record the identity of anyone who sells us precious-metal-bearing material. You must show a South African ID, driver's licence or passport, and we record the details on the invoice.
- By selling to us you confirm that you own the material or are authorised to sell it. We do not buy converters or electronics we have reason to believe are stolen, and we cooperate fully with the South African Police Service.
- We may decline any purchase.
6. E-waste and data
Storage devices we buy are wiped or physically destroyed during processing. You remain responsible for backing up anything you need before you hand equipment over. Written confirmation of destruction is available on request when you book a collection.
7. Mini Cats and other goods we sell
- Mini Cats are sold through minicats.co.za, which has its own terms, delivery options and returns process, and at our branches.
- A Mini Cat is an oxygen sensor spacer with a catalyst element. It addresses P0420 and P0430 codes by changing what the downstream sensor reads. It does not repair a catalytic converter and does not reduce emissions. Removing or bypassing a functioning converter on a road-going vehicle may affect its roadworthy status and emissions compliance; the buyer is responsible for lawful use.
- Goods sold at our branches are sold as described on the invoice. Please check goods before leaving; counter sales are final unless the goods are faulty, in which case the Consumer Protection Act applies.
8. This website

9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or from a sale or purchase, and our liability in any matter is limited to the value of the transaction concerned. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited.
