Privacy notice.

What personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. Written for people, not lawyers. Last updated 18 September 2026.

Who we are

JSC CARDS PTY LTD t/a PGM Recycling ("PGM Recycling", "we") is a South African business that buys e-waste and catalytic converters and sells mini catalytic converters. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). You can reach us at info@pgmrecycling.co.za or on 084 306 6660.

What we collect, and why

  • When you use the contact form. Your name, phone number, email address if you give one, and your message. We use it to reply to you and to arrange a collection. The form also records the IP address the message came from, to stop abuse of the form.
  • When you message us on WhatsApp or call. Your number, the photos and details you send us, and your location if you share it, so we can quote and collect. WhatsApp itself is provided by Meta under its own terms.
  • When we buy from you. Your name, identity number or passport number and contact details, recorded on the invoice for the sale. South African law requires a buyer of precious-metal-bearing material to identify the seller, so we cannot buy without this.
  • When you buy a Mini Cat. Orders are placed on minicats.co.za, which has its own privacy notice. Payments are processed by PayFast; we never see your card details.
  • When you visit the website. Our web server and Cloudflare, which protects the site, keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security. With your consent we also run our own first-party analytics to see which pages are used; see cookies below.

Cookies and analytics

The website sets a cookie to remember your cookie choice. If you accept analytics, a first-party script records page views on this site only. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share browsing data. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the site's cookies in your browser.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services needed to run the business: Cloudflare (website protection), Brevo (delivers our email, including contact-form messages to our inbox), PayFast (payments on minicats.co.za), and our couriers when something is delivered to you. Sale records may be provided to the South African Police Service or the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and then deleted. Invoices and seller records are kept for the period required by tax and precious-metals legislation. Website logs are kept for a short period for security and then rotated.

How we protect it

The website is served over HTTPS, protected by a web application firewall, and administrative systems are restricted to staff with two-factor authentication. Storage devices we buy as e-waste are wiped or physically destroyed during processing.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it (subject to records we must keep by law), and object to processing. Write to info@pgmrecycling.co.za. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
