How it works
A small catalyst where the sensor reads.
A P0420 or P0430 code means the engine computer sees the downstream oxygen sensor reading too close to the upstream one, which it interprets as a catalyst that is no longer working. The Mini Cat places a small catalyst element in front of that downstream sensor, so the sensor reads treated exhaust.

Please read before you buy. A Mini Cat does not repair a catalytic converter and it does not reduce what comes out of the tailpipe. If your converter is intact and something else is setting the code, a spacer hides the symptom rather than fixing the cause. Removing or bypassing a working converter on a road-going vehicle may affect its roadworthy status and emissions compliance in South Africa.
Fit to the downstream (post-catalyst) sensor port. Check that your sensor uses the M18 x 1.5 thread; almost all do.
